Paradise Island Yacht Charter: Atlantis, Beaches & Superyacht Marinas

Located directly across Nassau Harbour from New Providence, Paradise Island is one of the Bahamas' most polished luxury yacht charter destinations. The island combines world-class resorts, superyacht marinas, white-sand beaches, fine dining, nightlife, and immediate access to the turquoise waters surrounding Nassau.

The centerpiece is Atlantis Paradise Island, an enormous waterfront resort complex with restaurants, entertainment, marine habitats, Aquaventure, a casino, and its own protected megayacht marina. On the Atlantic side of the island, Cabbage Beach provides a completely different atmosphere, with a long stretch of white sand and brilliant blue water ideal for swimming and relaxing ashore.

Paradise Island is particularly attractive for yacht guests who want to combine five-star shoreside experiences with effortless access to wider Bahamas cruising. Spend a night alongside at Atlantis or Hurricane Hole, enjoy dinner and entertainment ashore, then depart the following morning toward Rose Island, Eleuthera, the Exumas, or the Berry Islands.

Paradise Island forms the northern boundary of Nassau Harbour, one of the busiest waterways in the Bahamas. Yachts approaching through the western harbour entrance must contact Nassau Harbour Control on VHF Channel 16 before entering, departing, or changing position within the harbour. Commercial ships, ferries, cruise traffic, tenders, and private yachts all use the channel, so captains must maintain careful situational awareness.

Marina access depends heavily on yacht dimensions. Atlantis Marina lies west of the Paradise Island bridges and offers direct access from Nassau Harbour with a minimum reported depth of 12 feet at low tide, avoiding bridge-height restrictions. Hurricane Hole lies east of the bridges, which have approximately 70 feet of vertical clearance, meaning large sailing yachts and some tall vessels may need to use an alternative approach arranged with the marina.

Paradise Island itself is primarily a marina destination rather than a traditional anchoring destination. Nassau Harbour experiences heavy vessel traffic, reversing tidal currents, wakes, and limited suitable anchoring space, so larger luxury charter yachts will generally be more comfortable secured within one of the island's protected marina basins.

The two major choices are Atlantis Marina and Hurricane Hole Superyacht Marina. Atlantis currently offers 63 megayacht slips and can accommodate yachts up to approximately 250 feet. Hurricane Hole provides extensive superyacht infrastructure farther east along Paradise Island and is also a designated Port of Entry with onsite customs and immigration facilities.

Paradise Island is connected to New Providence by two bridges, making Downtown Nassau easily accessible while allowing the island to maintain its own resort-oriented atmosphere. Atlantis dominates the western side, while luxury residences, restaurants, marinas, golf facilities, and beaches extend east along the island. The Bahamas tourism authority specifically identifies Paradise Island as home to major resorts and some of the area's liveliest beaches.

Cabbage Beach is the island's signature stretch of coastline, offering white sand, swimming, snorkeling, parasailing, and watersports along the Atlantic shore. For yacht guests, the combination of Cabbage Beach, Atlantis, sophisticated marina facilities, and Nassau Harbour access makes Paradise Island one of the easiest places in the Bahamas to combine resort luxury with life aboard a private yacht.
